NHL Rumor: Will we get some late player sports? Marc-Edouard Vlasic doesn’t think about retirement
Athlete sports may be held from mid-August to late September this year
Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey: From mid-August to late September is usually a very little time to trade, but is this a year when certain actions may occur? The Pittsburgh Penguin is one of many teams that seem to have some unfinished business.
The Edmonton Oilers can’t go into a year with the same goalkeeper tandem. The Detroit Red Wings didn’t do enough to get them past the playoffs. Toronto Maple Leafs didn’t replace Mitch Marner’s offense, and Nick Robertson really didn’t want to be there, it couldn’t be a replacement. The Boston Bruins hope to re-production and need more talent. New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders have higher hopes.
GM may wait until the season finds a player that is underperforming. Some people may want to see how they can move the pan out/not tilt during their offseason. Teams may not be able to sit down and wait too long if they quit the game.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic did not expect to acquire and did not want to retire
Curtis Pashelka of Mercury News: The San Jose Sharks bought out defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic after releasing his unconditional waiver back on June 26. The move surprised him after his exit meeting with Shark.
“They told me I played very well, especially the defense, and they liked that I was a mentor for young people. They told me they wanted me to do it next year, so when I left, I thought I would come back.”
On July 1, Shark General Manager Mike Grier said they wanted to create a roster space to upgrade the blue line, which they thought would do by adding Dmitry Orlov, John Klingberg and Nick Neddy.
VLASIC is not considering retirement and hopes to play somewhere.
“I have a lot to offer and (shark) knows it too. Where I’m going to play, it’s OK.
