Arsenal Stars Facing Men’s Axe As a Reporter Proposes “Interesting” Proposition
Now, Arsenal is imminent in the opening day against Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.
Mikel Arteta is ready to fight Ruben Amorim on Sunday at Old Trafford, and the North Londoners will prepare for another title challenge for them in pre-season preparations.
Apart from Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City have watched a lot of recent rivals, all splashing hundreds of millions of dollars in summer signings, which is nothing more than a perfect start for Arsenal.
Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta is also a busy guy, investing £200 million in six major signings, working on the N5 along with Kepa, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Masquera and Star Striker Viktor Gyokers.
It is becoming one of the most competitive Premier League campaigns in history, especially at the top of the desktop, with many outstanding competitors already known in the production transfer window.
“I think we’re in very good health,” Arteta said after Arsenal’s final pre-season game against Athletic Bilbao.
“I think we’ve already competed with very different opponents in different situations in different countries, so it’s a very complete season. You keep learning and evolving in the team, that won’t stop because it’s the last test before the season. On Monday, we’re going to continue doing things on Monday, starting today, from the last few games, we have to create an event that kicks off, and a bond that we need, we also need integration, we can be our integration. In the team, we can compete with the opposition.”
Arteta has made some urgent decisions to make before Arsenal faces off against Manchester United, and they themselves are under a lot of pressure to start a good start until 2025/2026.
Arsenal tilts to drop Miles Lewis Skeley
Journalist Charles Watts was convinced by a strong belief in talking to Caughtoffside that Arteta could even drop left back Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough campaign last season, winning Lewis-Skelly in the defender’s performance, both calling on England and a brand new long-term contract.
The rising star teenager competed in 23 Premier League games last year, starting 15 games and handed a nod in his blockbuster Champions League with Real Madrid and PSG.
After Gary Neville’s rise, Lewis-Skelly was called “incredible” by Gary Neville and others, and now he has become their key player.
However, Watts believes Lewis-Skelly will be ruled for Riccardo Calafiori.
“I think it will be interesting who starts with the defender this weekend against Arsenal. There is a real competition in these positions,” the reporter said.
“Riccardo Calafiori looked very good when he was in the game. I really liked how he did last weekend and if he thought he was healthy, I think he might nod at left back Myles Lewis-Skelly.
“It’s a tough call, but Lewis-Skelly hasn’t seen his best thing this summer, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Arteta was trying to deny the Bryan Mbeumo threat and cause problems on the other end.”
Calafiori suffered various injuries in 2024/2025, which hindered the Italian’s play time, but Arteta would be able to master the star’s left-back rotation if he could stay healthy.
