Arsenal agrees to financial terms and signs £55 million “magic”

A week since the start of the new Premier League season, Arsenal has finally prepared for future challenges.

It was a slow preseason for the Gunners, but a 3-0 victory over Bilbao calmed the deities, especially after Viktor Gyokeres opened his account in red and white.

A series of matches on foreign soil and on UAE Stadiums have frustrated supporters with the lack of change, but they changed on Saturday, and the front lines certainly look more effective.

Kai Havertz even made it to the scoring table, showing Mikel Arteta who faced Manchester United next weekend at Old Trafford.

Before that, Arteta and Andrea Berta may want to sign again across the entire production line.

Arsenal’s transfer is scheduled to be before September 1

With Noni Madueke and Gyokeres signing, Arsenal canceled two of its biggest priorities this summer: signing some backups and matches for Bukayo Saka and signing a new striker.

But there is a lingering feeling that the Gunners need more on the frontline.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard made no sense in the preseason and the quality of the attack on Arsenal’s left-hand option raised the question mark again.

As a result, Eberechi Eze’s name is again on a tour, and according to a report, a deal is now closer than ever.

This is according to the football transfer report, which they reported this weekend that Eze is “closing” to move to Emirates.

Financial terms have been agreed between Arsenal and the Palace, and the side of Arteta will pay the England star a total fee of £55m and a £30m upfront. That’s lower than Eze’s £68 million issue terms.

A conversation about the structure of the rest is in progress, but that’s not the case, as if this will be a major point.

Why Eze could be Arsenal’s new Emile Smith Rowe

Let us return our mind to the early days of Arteta’s rule in London. The years are 2021 and 2022, and it is safe to say that the Spanish are not fully emerging.

But Saka and Smith Rowe (you know how the song evolves) and acted as the club’s saviors.

The latter may have scored four senior goals in 2020/21, but was still alive in the 2021/22 season, earning ten of the club’s 33 league outings.

He is a product of Hale End, admired by Arsenal fans, and his cunning, clever skills have won the hearts of every corner of the emirate.

We all know that the injury troubles of England International eventually saw him joining Fulham last summer, but he certainly had a similar Eze.

Both players can play a role from the left wing and also have excellent offensive midfielders who can score goals. In 2024/25, Eze scored 14 in all matches, with 8 goals coming from 34 Premier League games.

For real similarity, we compared Eze’s performance last season with Smith Rowe’s best tenure at Arsenal.

As far as these numbers go, there are some significant differences in the peak season of British football so far.

Smith Rowe looks like a more prolific shooter, while Micah Richards’ “magic” Eze is more creative.

Ultimately, they have the same style. They like to carry possession, beat their marks and influence with similar areas in the last third of the court.

Smith Rowe attracted Arsenal fans with his running style and skating skills. Eze shares this feature and there is no doubt that if he switched Selhurst Park to the emirate, he would be a fan favorite.
