Liverpool boss Arne Slot said he was happy with his team because his roster refused to speculate on Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Premier League champions have added Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong this summer.
However, they continued their pursuit of Isak, with an initial bid of £110 million, rejected by Newcastle as they sought a replacement for Darwin Nunez, who had approached £46 million, moved to Saudi club Al Hilal.
When asked about Isaac on Friday, the slot machine said: “As you know, I think every manager works like this, you never talk about not being your player. I can talk about Hugo, we’ve signed and have been doing well until now.
“We are very happy with the team and have good reasons to be happy because we won the league last season. OK, the players left, but we also brought the players and the young people performed well.
“At this moment, Darwin might leave, but things are not signed, so we need to wait a few days until it’s completely done, but there is a chance to leave.”

“We have a lot of options to play there. But, like the players we might bring, it’s a boring answer and I’m very happy with the players we have.”
