Padres releases Martín Mardonado, Tyler Wade

Padres announces receiver Martin Maldonado Posted and Infielder/Outfielder Taylor Wade Sent directly to Triple-A El Paso. Before the monks, both players were designated last week’s mission before the trade deadline.
Maldonado has sent out more than a decade of major league career as a glove-first defender. However, his previous glove work has dropped to over 30s. Given his poor offense, his value to a major league club has been mostly reduced to intangible assets, such as the existence of his clubhouse and the handling of pitchers.
Paders needs help behind the 2025 plate, but the budget is tight. They signed several veterans and made cheap deals Elias Díaz $3.5mm, Maldonado conducts minor league contracts. Maldonado participated in the opening lineup and formed a capture duo with Díaz, but the two were having a tough time this year. Maldonado hit .204/.245/.327, while Díaz scored .201/.266/.304.
The monk obviously needs help behind the plate and by getting the demand on the deadline Freddy Fermin Maldonado was driven out of the Royals. Maldonado has enough service hours to refuse direct missions and elect free agents. The priests skipped this form and only released him. He may be able to go back to the minor league deal or find a deal with another organization. He is still 39 in a few days, so he might think of retirement, although it is totally speculative.
Wade, 30, is a glove-first utility. His career hit percentage this year is only .206/.309/.252, reaching .216/.294/.284 in his career, but can be a useful backup player as he can steal bases and provide defensive versatility. He played all the positions on the Diamond except the receiver and first base.
This is his second time this year he has been eliminated by Padres. The first time was after he did not participate in spring training with the club part. He could have chosen free agents while retaining his $900,000 salary, but decided to stick with the organization. He was selected as the roster a week later and wasn’t stuck on the roster until last week.
He now has the right to elect a free agent again. Since he last insisted on Padres, he might do it again. On the other hand, the position player group is now stronger. Priest added Ryan O’Hearn,,,,, Ramón Laureano and Fermin before the deadline. They caught it, too Will Wagner From the Blue Jays, let him participate in optional missions Mason McCoy and tirso ornelas. Maybe the road back to the majors has become too steep and Wade will elect free agents to look for opportunities elsewhere.
