Aston Villa defeated Newcastle United 4-1 in the Premier League yesterday, and BBC Pundit Pat Nevin questioned Joelinton's performance in the match.
The Brazilian is a key player in Newcastle, and he has contributed throughout the season on both ends of the court. However, his performance against Aston Villa was mediocre, and he obviously avoided entering tackles in the game.
Nevin believes the fact that he picked up the yellow card made the player nervous about tackles. Newcastle's defense against Aston Villa suffered, and Jolinton failed to have an ideal impact.
“Joelinton has a much smaller impact on the game, which is very compelling,” Niven said on the BBC.
“He's on the yellow card, so he's afraid to make another challenge. In some moments, he usually sticks out the tackle, but he almost jumps out of the tackle because he doesn't want another yellow.”
Joelinton hopes to rebound

The Brazilian will be fully aware of his disappointing performance and it is interesting whether he can rebound strongly in the upcoming game. He has been impressed this season.
Newcastle has had an impressive season so far, and they managed to win the British League Cup. They will be desperate to qualify for the Champions League this season.
Despite their defeat against Aston Villa, they are currently ranked third at the league table. However, they can't afford it at this stage of the season. Manchester City and Chelsea breathe their necks and Newcastle must hope to win the remaining matches if they want to play in the Champions League next season.
