Liverpool ‘want to win everything’ says Ekitike

Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike said the Reds were impressed in a back-to-back Anfield friendly against Bilbao.

Ekitike, 23, was impressed by his performance and set an opening goal for Mohamed Salah as Arne Slot’s first team won 3-2 in a game filled with Anfield.

French Under 21 International Team said the Premier League champions could launch more – starting with the community shield against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

He said: “I love it so much, it’s a great atmosphere. I’m proud and I just wish I would play so many games in this stadium because it’s so amazing.

“I’ve been here for over a week now, so I’m still trying to find contact with other people before the last pass and before. I love playing with them, and outside the court, they’re also good people. So, I’m so happy to be playing with them.

“Now is, this is the last friendly match before [Community Shield]. I think it’s important to win the game today, and you have to play this game confidently. But the real season starts and I want to play in the Cup on Sunday and we look forward to that.

“We have a bunch of competitors and we want to win everything. We’re sure, we’re going to give 100%. I’m sure. And, I’m going to win 100% because I’m here to win.”

Ekitike forms an exciting offensive quartet with Salah, Cody Gakpo and New New Signing Florian Wirtz.

The Reds began their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth on Friday, August 15.
