Luka Doncic vows that Lakers’ expansion is “just the beginning”

Luka Doncic thanked Los Angeles Lakers fans for their “open arms” welcome and promised to “give everything I have to me” after signing a three-year, $165 million extension.

The Lakers won the 26-year-old Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks in February, a blockbuster trade by Anthony Davis, in partnership with Talisman Lebron James, who will return to his 23rd campaign in the 2025/26 season.

Slovenian Doncic, who has a 2026/27 player choice under his previous tenure, gave up free agents next summer and will provide $5 million to help 77 young athletes around the world “pursuing their dreams.”

Don Sic reportedly contacted his manager the day after the Lakers’ season to inform her that he hopes to return to Europe and improve his health.
