Howe is frustrated by “far from ideal” Alexander Isaac transfer legend

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe acknowledged that the uncertainty of Alexander Isak’s future is unwelcome attention, but said he still hopes the striker will stay at St. James Park.

Howe spoke during the club’s pre-season tour in Asia, Hoy confirmed that Newcastle rejected Liverpool’s £110 million bid for the 25-year-old Swedish international.

Isak is considered one of the most talented strikers in world football, and this summer, Liverpool’s pursuit has disturbed people.

The Premier League champion made an offer on Friday, but for now, it is not intended to return with improved bids.

The striker did not join Newcastle’s pre-season trip due to what the club said was a small thigh injury.

However, he has been training alone in the former club Real Sociedad since then, and his absence is also related to his desire for action.

Good distance from yourself

Howe explained that the matter was handled by the club’s hierarchy rather than by himself

“I think, from my situation, everything that happened at home has been removed.

“I know there was a bid yesterday. It was rejected before I heard about it.”

Howe continued to stress that despite speculation, he still sees the future of Newcastle’s Swedish striker.

“Some people are back in England to deal with this situation. I really don’t know what’s going to happen next, but from our perspective we still support Alex in various ways and my wish is still that we will see him in a Newcastle shirt again.”

Newcastle ended its pre-season tour in Seoul on Sunday, a major game that would mark the end of the Heung-Min Son Spurs career.

Howe admitted that he first found out that Isak retrained in Spain through media reports.

“I know where he is through the media, so I think from this perspective, it’s hard for me to go into detail.”

Liverpool seemed to have lowered their interest, while Newcastle, whom Newcastle refused to sell, stood, Isaac’s future remains unresolved.

Since joining Real Sociedad in 2022, the striker who scored 21 goals in all games last season has become the core of Newcastle’s plan.
