Canadian Open: British Emma Raducanu

The British showed resilience in the early stages, occupying five breakthrough points in her opening service game.

She then ended the style’s opening by winning five consecutive games.

After a few breaks in the second set, Raducanu also beat Ruse in Auckland in 2024 – finding a crucial break to lead 5-4 and serving the game.

Raducanu rebounded strongly with four wins in five appearances at the hard court since losing against Aryna Sabalenka in Wimbledon in early July.

If she passes by Stearns in Montreal, the fifth seed and 2025 Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova may wait in the third round.
