Golf Business News – WOAD wins Women’s Scotland Open on Professional debut

Rising British star Lottie Woad started her career in a spectacular way, scoring three shots at Dundonald Links’ ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open.

The Surrey-based star made her debut this week after winning a LPGA Tour card after finishing third in the Amundi Evian Championship.

Woad, who won the KPMG Women’s Irish Open earlier this month, entered his final day with a two-shot lead at the top of the 36-hole and 54-hole rankings.

The 21-year-old started back-to-back birdies on the second and third holes and then made nine holes on the trot, but then rolled the birdies on the 13 and 14 birdies. The third bogey this week happened 16 times in the world’s No. 1 amateurs before the 16-time world No. 1 amateurs, but she won by the 18-year-old Birds with a score of under 21.

“I definitely don’t want to win my first event as a professional, but I know I’m doing well and I want to compete.

“There aren’t that many scoreboards out there, so I don’t know anyone has a level, but I know it might be nervous because I only have a couple when I’m turning.

WOAD has become the first player to win a professional debut since Singapore’s Magic Kenya Ladies Open 2024, the LPGA Tour since Rose Zhang at the 2023 Mizuho Americas Open.
