Spurs explore deals to sign £26m ‘monster’

Totterham Hotspur continued to prepare for the 2025/26 campaign, and had two interesting disagreements against Luton Town and Wycombe Wanderers on the same day.
The Lilywhites failed to win the game in a mix of first-team and youth players as they were beaten 2-2 by the Hatters with a 0-0 score and the choir boys.
Newly signed Mohammed Kudus arrived earlier this summer from Premier League rival West Ham United, where he joined Luton in a purposeless draw that failed to help his side break the deadlock.
One player who did not take action in either game, though, was center Dominic Solanke, as the club confirmed he had suffered a minor ankle injury.
The England international is the club’s only natural, ninth-ranked only option, and he missed 14 games in the 2024/25 campaign, which could make the Spurs cautious about next season and become their only natural striker worthy of appeal.
Why the Spurs need to sign a new center forward
Lilywhites should sign another scorer in the market as the team had a serious lack of consistent scorers in the last Premier League, with Brennan Johnson finishing the year as the top scorer with 11 goals.
Solanke’s fitness problem is a problem as he missed 14 games last semester and an ankle injury he’s already suffered in the preseason, but he’s also worried about his performance.
The 27-year-old midfielder didn’t enjoy a particularly impressive debut season in front of the Spurs as the former Bournemouth attacker failed to score double-digit numbers in the Premier League.
Solanke finished the season with 16 goals in 45 games of all games, but he was underperformed while XG had a poor performance, with only nine goals being the highest.
The British scorer scored nine goals in the Premier League 10.97 XG and 5.58 XG in the Europa League, which shows he was a waste in front of goals.

As you can see in the table above, the former therapy attacker missed too many “big opportunities” in the top flight, and that’s not a reliable goal from Ange Postecoglou.
Now, can he strengthen the game and become the consistent shooter Thomas Frank pushes the team to the table next season.
That’s why the clubs have to sign a new 9th option to strengthen their team, and they are reportedly looking for a striker that will be Solank’s big upgrade.
Spurs explore prolific forward agreement
According to Caughtoffside, Tottenham Hotspur is one of many clubs exploring the possibility of an agreement between Al Hilal Centre-Forward-Fard Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The report claims that Newcastle United, Manchester United and Spurs all yearn for Serbia International during the summer transfer window.
It noted that Tottenham Hotspurs hopes to add new players to their frontline games this summer due to the declined state of Richarlison and Heung-Min sons, and they believe Mitrovic is a player who can be a viable alternative to Solank next season.
Catughtoffside added that Al Hilal is looking for a fee of about €30 million (£26 million) to approve the prolific centre for summer transfers.
But whether the Spurs, Newcastle or Manchester United is ready to pay the £26 million it needs to get his service in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
Why should the Spurs sign Mitrovic
Lilywhites should win the experienced ninth place before the summer transfer window ends as he will have a lot of upgrades as Frank’s Solanke.
As mentioned earlier, the current 9th Spurs have been working on regular goals and are a waste finisher in the Premier League, but it is unlikely for Mitrovic, north London.
The 30-year-old star was Fulham, and Al Hilal made 79 appearances since moving out of the Goats in 2023, earning an astonishing 68 goals and 15 assists in 79 appearances.
While in England, he also scored a stunning return of 111 goals in 206 matches for Fulham, indicating that he is also a proven and consistent shooter in British football.
Mitrovic, described as an “absolute monster” by Saudi Arabian news reporter Matt Monaghan, is an experienced and experienced shooter who can offer more than Solanke in the Premier League next season.

As you can see in the table above, the Serbian scorer scored 47 goals in two seasons in the Saudi Pro League, outperforming his XG in both campaigns.
These statistics show that he is a very effective striker who can consistently put away the high-quality opportunities created for him or created by his own sports and games.
Mitrovic also scored 14 goals in 23 Premier League matches during his 2022/23 campaign before Fulham moved to Saudi Arabia, suggesting he can also effectively rank ninth in the top UK flights.
Solanke’s ability to be the question mark of the Spurs’ ability to need a ninth place start next season, signing Al Hilal Star for £26m due to his lack of finish and insufficient goals return, a move that could make sense this summer.

If Mitrovic can turn his form in Saudi Arabia into the Premier League, he may make a lot of upgrades to England International as he has the potential to provide more goals for the team.
