Track and Field has been designated as catcher Jhonny Pereda For assignment, according to Jason Burke on A. That is the corresponding 40-man lineup of left-handed Ken WaldichukRecovered from the 60-day list of injuries. MLBTR covered Waldichuk earlier today.
Pereda, 29, was obtained from the Marlins in the offseason DFA trade. He opened the season behind the receiver Shea langeliers. As the season progresses, A has added Willie Macver and Austin Wynn The lineup knocks Pereda into the depth character.
In this year’s major leagues, Pereda’s batting line is .175/.283/.225. This is a small sample size for the 46 disk appearance, but this lack of performance presumably prompted A to make some changes behind the disk. Pereda was knocked down with the depth map and he seemed to be vulnerable in the 40-man seat. Pereda considered a career of .203/.267/.228 during her time with the Marlins last year.
He is now in DFA Limbo and can last for a week. The exemption process takes 48 hours, so it can take up to five days for A to trade. Although his major league job hasn’t been great so far, this has only been in 86 games. Even this year, his minor league work is still impressed, which may attract interest.
His history goes back to early 2022, with 13.3% walking rate, 19.1% strikeout rate, .302/.394/.427 hits and 118 WRC+ walking rate of 811 times with 13.1% walking rate and 118 WRC+. This includes the .319/.400/.440 line that appeared in 105 sets this year. He can still choose him to minors for the rest of the year.
