Rattlesnake signature Sergio Alcántara, put Ketel Marte on restricted list due to personal issues
The Rattlers announced a series of rosters today, including the right-handed selection Trevor Richards Recall with receivers Adrian del Castillopreviously reported actions. They also signed infielders Sergio Alcántara Achieve Major League Baseball. Right-handed Juan Morillo Select during the break to open an active roster. Maybe Marte will be back in just a few days. Anyway, this is not ideal for rattlesnakes, as their season feels like they are currently hanging in a line.
This year’s injuries and pests are very difficult. They have 11 pitchers on the injury list, many of whom will not return this season due to a large number of surgeries. Naturally, this affects their ability to win games. They are currently 47-50 and 5.5 games in playoff spots. General Manager Mike Hazen said he hopes the team will be able to enter the buyer position, but feels like they may be moving towards a sell model. Given that he is one of the best all-around players in the game, losing Marte will not help any time.
Fire Alexander Perhaps a favorite to take over cornerstones during the transition, but Alcántara will give them a fresh body on the roster. He played in a game with the Giants this year, hitting numerous hits in four batsmen. Otherwise, he had produced a warm line of 0.206/.319/.252 in Triple-A. He shouldn’t be expected to offer too many bats, but he can play three infield spots on the left side of the first base.
Moreno’s transfer to 60-day IL is not ideal back either. He was placed in 10-day IL on June 20 due to a fracture of his hairline on his right index finger. This transfer means the club doesn’t want him to return around next month. They’ve been using José Herrera and James McCann behind the disk, but now the triple catcher setting will be made. Del Castillo has big minor league numbers at speed, but has played in just 14 three games this year due to injury. On July 1, he recovered him from Illinois, Illinois.
Now he’s healthy, maybe he’ll have a chance to get some major league game time, and Moreno isn’t the near future choice. Last year, Del Castillo hit .313/.368/.525 in his major league debut. He hit .288/.386/.559 in Triple-A this year, but mentioned in a rather limited sample. Herrera’s route this year is only .197/.302/.268. McCann has a monster on the .375/.516/.708 line, but he has only recently added to the roster in nine games. He cut .224/.279/.352 over the past four seasons.
