Leicester will need to make changes to their team in the championship game next month. One of these changes may involve Conor Coady, who is the candidate to leave this summer.

Coady, who made 26 appearances last season, has been a major player in Leicester since he arrived from Wolves two years ago. But now he has determined his dream next move and can move on now.

According to Daily Records (via Leicester’s Fox), Coady, who returned to Wolf in recent weeks, hopes to join the Rangers this summer. The 32-year-old reportedly asked not to be on Leicester’s pre-season tour in a bid to move to Glasgow where he will play under Russell Martin.

Coady’s situation must be assessed by new Leicester manager Marti Cifuentes, whose appointment was recently officially appointed. It’s unclear whether he’s counting on a veteran defender for the 2025-26 season – but if not, the deal with the Rangers could get on the card.

Leicester did it right in the penultimate inning of the championship, and their plan would be to start as many players as possible from last season. But given Coadi wants to leave, the club owner is unlikely to get in the way, especially since he is unlikely to be a crucial player for the Cifuentes.

Whether Leicester will allow Coadi to leave this summer remains to be seen, but if so, they will be sure to make an acceptable deal with the Rangers. Funds are needed to secure replacements as their goal is to build teams that will return to the Premier League in 2026.
