49ers’ WR Jauan Jennings reportedly wants a new contract or a deal by San Francisco

After winning NFC West for three consecutive years, the 49ers took a step back in 2024. The team missed several key players due to injury. These include Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter had an interesting report on one of the 49ers’ top pass catchers Monday morning. Jauan Jennings seeks new contracts in offseason or San Francisco deals. The team’s bootcamp starts in just one week. The team had similar problems last offseason when Brandon Aiyuk sought to extend his contract. Eventually, he did sign a long-term agreement. Will the same thing happen to Jennings?

Will Jauan Jennings play for the 49ers in 2025?

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the 49ers chose Tennessee’s WR Jauan Jennings. In four seasons, Jennings has played 60 games for San Francisco and scored 17 games. In 2024, Jennings competed in 15 of the team’s 17 games, and his 17 games were the highest in his new career. Additionally, Jennings’ 77 catches, 975 yards and 6 touchdowns were the 28-year-old’s best player in the new career.

ESPN’s Field Yates reported that Jauan Jennings will make $7.5 million in the final season of its deal with the 49ers. Adam Schefter noted that Jennings hopes to sign a contract or trade it by the Niners during the offseason. The team splits his way with veteran WR Deebo Samuel in the offseason. On top of that, Brandon Aiyuk fell into a torn ACL and MCL on his right knee.

His recovery schedule is uncertain, which has led the 49ers to start the season in WR. The team also couldn’t miss out on Jauan Jeggins’ production. Brandon Aiyuk was looking for a contract last offseason and he stuck with it until he reached a deal on August 29.

Jennings wants to cash in his 2024 production season. Sources reported that Ninas felt they had paid a fair payment. However, WR is looking for a new deal or trade it to a team willing to pay for it. Former Dolphin TE Jonu Smith took a similar path during the offseason. When the Dolphin was unable to fulfill his contract request, he was traded to Steeler, who signed him. As the 2025 season approaches, we will see how important Jauan Jennings is to the 49ers.
