Rory McIlroy denies over $1 million jackpot

Previously, touring Chris Gotterup had a maximum compensation day of $720,000 as he won the first match in the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic.

At Renaissance clubs, the Americans postponed their partner Rory McIlroy for over $1.5 million and ranked 39th in the FedExcup standings.

In addition to his position at Royal Porthush this week, Gotterup also spins the world rankings 49th a week later, including the second round of 61.

“They are both special. The first one is the first one, and I think a lot of people say the second one is hard because of your expectations and other things. It’s definitely a validation this week,” the 25-year-old explained.

“Murtel Beach is great, but this, I feel like I’ve been talking to the team about what I want to take the next step and I feel like that’s part of it.”

For McIlroy, runner-up pot extended his lead in Dubai rankings and closed the gap for Scottie Scheffler on the PGA Tour, the 27-year-old tied for the Masters champion.

Marco Penge, who is ranked third in the Dubai currency list, already qualifies for Royal Porthush – now he is in a good position to lock in a spot on next year’s PGA Tour.

The British young man also brought a huge boost to his Ryder Cup, which is the Rolex series.

He said: “I wasn’t at this event at the beginning of the year, I really wanted to be here.

“When I was taking the course, I looked at the rankings and in that top 10 I would see my name, like a little crazy. I looked at the rankings a little constantly, but I was happy to look at them from time to time.

“Obviously, I’m doing well in PGA, and the stats after that week gave me a lot of confidence because of the way I’ve been playing and I know I can compete with these guys. But even today, under this pressure, it’s still a little unknown.”

For Matt Fitzpatrick, it was his second highest return on the PGA Tour this season, and for Nicola Hojgaard, it was his best form or something like that.
