Wimbledon 2025: How Iga Swiatek beats Amanda Anisimova and registers the heaviest woman in over a century for the final failure of SW19

If there is any history that teaches us about Iga Swiatek, it is that she breaks the opponent, then it is possible to dominate the card.

That’s what happened in Saturday’s Wimbledon final as she won the first 57-minute championship to beat Amanda Anisimova 6-0 6-0.

There is no doubt that this is difficult for the American, but she is not alone at the receiving end of this result.

In 2021, Swiatek defeated former world number one Karolina Pliskova by the same score in the Italian Open final.

This year alone, just 12 players lost to Swiatek 6-0, including Dayana Yastreska (twice), Emma Raducanu, Belinda Bencic and Victoria Azarenka.

At the Australian Open in January, Swiatek shot 6-0 in three of her first four games – those same Scorelines are now on the grassland.

“Come here, I can really focus on getting better and growing into a player, not everyone is asking me to win,” said Swiatek of Poland.

“I kind of liked it because expectations were lowered a little.”
