NHL Rumor: Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks

Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in Jack Roslovic and why they lost on Andrew Mangiapane

SportsNet: Elliotte Friedman said the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of several teams interested in free agent forward Jack Roslovic.

“It makes a lot of sense to me because he has history with Auston Matthews. They play together on the National Development Team in the U.S., so I can see that connection. Roslovic is also a shot with his right hand. You know he’s a veteran. He’s been a long time. Matthew obviously knows him. I’m curious to see if it will happen.”

The Washington capital, San Jose Sharks and Buffalo Saber may also be interested in Roslovic.

Depending on what he wants, Maple Leaf may need to clear some salary. Having to wait for the room to be cleared is one of the reasons forward Andrew Mangiapane signed with Edmonton Oilers instead of Maple Leafs.

Buffalo Saber must stop endless reconstruction

“I think one of the reasons why Leaves didn’t get the mango is because they kind of show, ‘We have to move some of the bodies out,'” Friedman explained. “And Mangiapane doesn’t want to wait. So far, at least for the time being, Roslovic is waiting. I think one of them is Kampf and the other may be Jarnkrok.”

Vancouver Canucks are inducing two free agent centers without success

Stage 4: The Vancouver Canucks are tired and found some help in the middle of free agents, but not enough.

Sources said the Garners were interested in Mikael Granlund and spoke about a four-year contract, about $6 million. Granlund eventually signed a three-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks for $7 million each.

NHL Rumors: Flyers, Hurricanes and Oilers

Rick Dhaliwal reports that the Garners are also interested in Christian Dvorak, who ended up signing a one-year contract with Philadelphia flyers for $5.4 million. According to Dhaliwal, the Canucks have offered it for three years at $4 million per person.
