Real Madrid meets appeal against Rudiger punishment for Mbappe and uefa rejection

UEFA rejected Real Madrid’s appeal against fines from Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rudiger and Dani Ceballos for their manners at the end of the Champions League with Atletico Madrid at the end of the Champions League.
Madrid beat Athletic in a dramatic penalty in March, with Julian Alvarez successfully winning his successful penalty.
Subsequently, UEFA confirmed it was investigating Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Rudiger and Ceballos, and announced in April that it would punish everyone except Vinicius.
After the victory, Mbappe was considered a gesture against arena fans, and TV pictures seemed to show Rudiger making a throat move.
French star Mbappe was controlled by UEFA, with the Ethics and Disciplinary Agency (CEDB) fined €30,000 and German defender Rudiger was fined €40,000. Both players have gone through a year of probation, but both players have been suspended for one game. Ceballos was fined 20,000 euros.
UEFA appealed on Monday, dismissed the appeal and imposed the sanctions.
In addition, the governing body of European football rejected Madrid’s appeal, rejecting CEDB’s fine of 15,000 for their first leg in the quarter-finals to salute Nazi tribute at the UAE Stadium.
Madrid has been banned from selling tickets to supporters’ next European League match, and although the punishment has also been suspended, it will be subject to a one-year probation period.
Meanwhile, Slavia Prague will partially close its Fortuna Arena home in their first Champions League match held in the 2025-26 league stage.
Slavia, who qualified for the league stage after winning the Czech championship in 2024-25, appealed their punishment for racist behavior in the Europa League match against Anderlecht in December.
The initial fine of €35,000 has been reduced to €20,000, although some stadiums of the next European League match remain.
