England Golf After the disabled golfer in Germany won the silver medal championship in 2024, New England’s disabled squad will receive the same elite coaching and facility standards as other national teams.
The first squad of the Disabled Team will be held in October, with the first coach about to be appointed.
Steve Burnett, Deputy Performance Director of Golf England, said: “After two successful campaigns for golfers with disabilities, we have taken positive steps to introduce the English Disability Squad with a view to providing this elite player with opportunities to coach and develop for our existing England squad.
“By owning this team, we want to inspire golfers with disabilities to try to reach their potential and represent their country, where they can not only get the best facilities and coaches, but also have the opportunity to win medals.”

Tom Dobson, England Golf Disability Manager, added: “Golf is a game for everyone and we want all aspiring players with disabilities to enjoy our sport with whatever abilities they want and to challenge themselves to be the best sport.
“We want to see more players compete and register to evaluate their EDGA passes, which in turn will provide golfers with disabilities with deeper depth and more entries – this champion is an entry since 2023, and a growing number of champion entries, with more and more disability golf events in England.”
