French Open 2025: Rafael Nadal

Tournament director Amelie Mauresmo said Rafael Nadal will receive honors at the ceremony at this year's French Open.

The Spanish great man retired in November, winning 14 of 22 Grand Slam titles at Roland Garros.

No other player won as many singles titles in a Grand Slam match as Nadal had at the French Open. The 38-year-old won the final Grand Slam title there in 2022.

Mauresmo said the ceremony will be held in court at the end of the day on Sunday, May 25.

“Rafa made history at Roland Garros, and his 14 titles may still be unparalleled,” said two-time major champion Morris Moor.

“The idea is to have a vision for the future and to celebrate the people who have excited us in the past.”

Nadal lost to Alexander Zverev in his last French Open last year to Alexander Zverev's final Alexander Zverev.

The competition will also honor retired Richard Gasquet and 2000 champion Mary Pierce.

The French Open – the second major of the year – will be held on June 25.
