The club explores the third striker’s goal

Arsenal hopes to sign a striker this summer, but so far, their pursuit is not as simple as they hoped. As a result, sports director Andrea Berta now sees the new name as an option.

Arsenal has prioritized two players in recent weeks to sign the ninth new number: Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres. Both like Berta and head coach Mikel Arteta, but while both make money, neither deal is close to completion.

This has led to other players being placed on Arsenal’s radar, and one of them is now considering a summer pursuit.

As Bild reported, Arsenal is considering a move against Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike. The 22-year-old scored 22 goals in all games last season, a choice for Berta as Sesko and Gyokeres made slow progress in the deal.

At this stage, Liverpool is a favorite to sign Ekitike this summer, but if Arsenal decides it’s no longer worth considering Sesko and Gyokeres as their primary targets, then Arsenal could hijack any move.

The problem that Arsenal may face is that Frankfurt is believed to think the Ekitike is worth £85m, which is beyond their payments for Sesko or Gyokeres. In this regard, trading is unlikely to be a priority, but if previous PSG attackers were considered more suitable for Arteta, they could choose.

For now, it remains to be seen how Arsenal’s forward search works. The panic is not in a difficult situation, but it will be frustrated by the lack of progress in the transaction being processed.
