Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest information on Arsenal and Manchester United’s transfer target Viktor Gyokeres.
The sporting Lisbon and Swedish striker has caught fire in front of goals recently, scoring 97 goals in his club’s last 102 games.
Now, Gyokeres may be available this summer because he is certainly too good to continue playing on Portugal’s top flight for longer.
According to Romano in his latest YouTube video post, Gyokerers prioritized moving to Arsenal and communicated it to Man United.
For information about Romano’s insistence that players have not completely ruled out moving to Old Trafford, see below for more information on the Gyokeres transfer legend, even if Emirates Stadium would be his preference…
Viktor Gyokeres hopes to join Manchester United’s Arsenal
Gyokeres may be the ideal signing for Arsenal for last season, but Man UTD is also short in the division.
Nevertheless, it might make sense for Gyokeres to want to join the Red Devils’ Gunners, as Mikel Arteta’s team has Champions League football.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is not even in Europe next season, although they are managed by Gyokeres’ old sports manager Ruben Amorim.
That’s probably why Romano said even if he would rather join Arsenal and made it clear to the MUFC that Gyokeres hasn’t completely decided not to join United.
Fabrizio Romano on Viktor Gyokeres
Romano said: “For many Manchester United fans, did Viktor Gyokerers refuse United to go to Arsenal?
“His agent talks with Manchester United about ten days ago that his first priority is Arsenal. So Viktor Gyokeres’ priority is to go to Arsenal – he’s keen to go to Arsenal, including the Champions League, but Viktor Gyokeres didn’t say no to Manchester United.
“So the priority for the player is Arsenal, and players are waiting for Arsenal. Arsenal is waiting to learn about the cost of Viktor Gyokeres.
“I tell you, this battle between players’ agents is a 60-65 euro exit fee this summer respecting the agreement – a 65 million euro exit fee this summer.”
