Pablo Barrios scored twice as Atletico Madrid bounced from an opening loss, beating the Seattle Voice at the club’s World Cup.

The arena was then sentenced to a penalty, but VAR comments found the gun out of the box.

Albert Rusnak brought Seattle into the scoreboard with a sharp low, but Barrios won his second game, using a buffered half-volley to win after the buzzing game could not clear the throw.
Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer said: “The players showed courage today. I mean, they failed, they were able to come back and still fight and brave.
“You know the strength of the competition is in their transition, their counterattacks, but we are not afraid of attacks. It touched us a few times, but in the end, the players won, it was courage.”
