7 lowest 72 holes win points in the Travelers Championship

TPC River Highlands’ Travelers Championship has achieved an incredible feat in scoring since its rebrand in 2007.

It’s a showcase in Connecticut where elite players get deeply trapped in red numbers on their scorecards and have the chance to get a “W” after the psychological ordeal of the U.S. Open in order to get the main champions to start the emerging PGA Tour talent.

This course in Hartford will be a welcome change compared to the Ultra-Tough Bogey-Fest we’ve seen at Oakmont Country Club, with JJ Spaun winning the U.S. Open in 2025, with just one point under par.

Golf365 compiled the lowest seven holes scores in Travelers Championship history.

Let’s jump in and see who thrives on TPC River Highlands…

7. StewartCink – 2008 (-18)

Veteran Stewart Cink of the United States won the second victory of the 2008 PGA Tour with a record of -18 in the 2008 PGA Tour season.

His course management and bullet-like precision are key to helping him cross the racing team while covering the powerful American fields that have been on his tail all weekend.

5 = Dustin Johnson – 2020 (-19)

2020 was an easy year for Dustin Johnson, who supported his Masters with the Augusta Nationals on another free-flow scoring in Connecticut.

His sheer strength and batting ability helped him have only one stroke in the Travelers Championship who hit the co-strike, no fans in popular golf games, and Kevin Streelman had only one stroke.

The win is part of the climax of the current season with the FedEx championship.

5 = Xander Schauffele – 2022 (-19)

Years before Schauffele won the 2024 double major season, he showed his elite potential, supporting his 2020 Olympic gold medal, and scored an exciting performance of 261 points in the Travelers Championship in 2022.

He led the Challengers with JT Poston and Sahith Theegala and secured a memorable sixth PGA Tour title, where he produced a final 68.

4. FreddieJacobson – 2011 (-20)

Jacobson’s solo PGA Tour champion won in the right style, with the Swedish player shooting 260 in Hartford, reaching an admirable -20.

Jacobson’s key is so low in his approach shots and high putt ratios as he scored a win, a career-defining moment for the 2011 popular champion.

2 = Kenny Perry – 2009 (-22)

Despite never winning a major tournament, Perry’s longevity was highly praised on the PGA Tour, with the 2009 Traveler Championship being the last of his impressive 14 PGA Tour titles.

He showed off his trademark hits and effortlessly shaped the ball at 258, rarely winning -20 in the dominant three-stroke of TPC River Heights.

2 = Scottie Scheffler – 2024 (-22)

Scheffler’s 2024 season is really fascinating as he won the green jacket and seven PGA Tour games, including the Travelers Championship.

However, he needs additional holes to secure the 2024 championship as he gained an edge in Tom Kim’s playoffs to prove why he is the top player on the tour, his ability to make few mistakes and the ongoing pressure.

1. Keegan Bradley – 2023 (-23)

Keegan Bradley’s record was the lowest score of 257 for the winning Travelers Championship, rewritten the record.

He found the perfect balance of long hits and touching the greens, beating the field with a 68-round closing ceremony and winning.

For Bradley’s victory on the ground was a huge career win.
