Matt Ryan is a regular on the Celebrity Tour. Is professional golf next?

The former Falcon QB “Mati Ice” is always cool under pressure. With the 1.9 index, it’s obvious that the traits serve him well on the golf course.

Golf: You are a good stick. Have you ever considered trying to go on a Korn Ferry or similar tour?

Matt Ryan: No, no. I’m lucky to compete with many travel experts and they’re at different levels. I know where my game is. This is good for clubs to play golf, and maybe not that much for professional golf.

G: What did you play with professionals?

gentlemen: They put the ball in the hole much better than the others! [Laughs] Seriously, this is a short game. They are always up and down. They chip and pitch are good. They pushed it very well. Then it’s a mentality and attitude. They know how to compete and learn about the game at different levels.

G: You are a regular visitor to the Celebrity Tour. What attracts so many former athletes to golf?

gentlemen: We work on wire to try to get better, trying to chase something. Golf seems to be the hardest thing to chase, right? We all love to compete and challenge ourselves.

G: You still live in Atlanta, right?

gentlemen: Home in Atlanta. I have three little boys, all of whom were born in Atlanta. I played in a place called Cherokee Golf and Country Club. This is a great family club with two good golf courses. This is a fun place to play golf.

G: Life is so close, I think you have been to Augusta Country.

gentlemen: Yes! This is a great place, that’s for sure. I think what I’m notorious there is that I’m a friend of Stewart Cink, who I won a caddie for at one point in the Score 3 Championship. That’s cool.

G: How do you look in a white jumpsuit?

gentlemen: Probably not very good, but I’m trying to look the best, which is for sure.

G: You grew up in the Philadelphia area. Where do you play golf?

gentlemen: I like to play in Philadelphia. I grew up outside. I’ve been lucky enough to have played a bunch of good ones. My favorite place, though, is where my family plays Stonewall. To me, this is definitely an emotional favorite.

G: Have you ever played Pine Valley?

gentlemen: I have, yes. I’m fine. I think Pine Valley is better at Pine Valley, and I’m sure, a lot of people are. There is a reason why it ranks the highest every year.

G: You are doing some TV work now. Will this cut down on your time to put it into practice?

gentlemen: I’m on CBS’NFL today. I’m doing pre-match performances on Sunday, it’s OK. I need a week off a day and golfing!
