Golf Business News – Ecobunker reports Australian growth in Australia

Bunker Experts Ecobunker, in partnership with Turfcare, Australia, recently completed the first phase of a major Bunker installation at Pennant Hills Golf Club near Sydney, as the venue is designed to relieve course maintenance burdens while ensuring the strength, stability and long-term performance of its sand traps.

“After extensive research and evaluation, Pennant Hills Golf Club has selected the Ecobunker and Klingstone 400 as superior solutions for their bunker walls and floors,” commented Shane Summerhayes, general manager of Turfcare, Australia. “These high-performance products are now being used to build 48 brand new bunkers as part of the course redesign.”

The program started with a practice bunker and after receiving positive feedback from the club, the team has entered the 17th and 18th Green Complex on the club’s 592,500 tracks, which has hosted many leading regional amateur events, including the NSW Men’s and NSW Ladies’ Amateur Championships.

Richard Allen, inventor of Ecobunker and synthetic Bunker Technology, added: “Australia Turfcare Australia did a great job in the first phase installation and the results were amazing.” “We are excited to work with the team to demonstrate how Ecobunker technology can solve the problems surrounding structural integrity, sand pollution and ongoing maintenance in tough environmental conditions. We have done some great work in Australia and look forward to helping more clubs through a partnership with the Turfcare team.”

Previous projects in Australia include magnificent faces on the link to Graham Marsh’s Kennedy Bay, and among the course architects and chairs of the Australian Golf Course Architects Association, Harley Kruse uses Ecobunker technology to showcase bunkers that match his designs.

Harley commented: “The Ecobunker system allows us to create a beautiful, smooth bunker style modeled on the Melbourne Sand Belt and impossible to use with natural Aboriginal turf. The Kilara project has achieved significant success in course maintenance staff and all golfers who are lucky enough to play there.”

With the next phase approaching and more projects are planned for the next few months, Ecobunker synthetic bunker technology will be regularly seen in the Australian courses for the coming year.
