Dylan Mingo receives MVP honors in NPBA top 100 camps

Dylan Mingo continued his dominant summer with a much worthy performance at the NBPA Top 100 Training Camp last weekend. The 2026 five-star guard thrived early on the PSA Cardinals on the Nike Eybl track and stood out in other top competitions. Mingo earned MVP Camp MVP honors after averaging nearly 24 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds in the game.

His last AAU season started an impressive start, averaging 18.5 (53.3% real shots), 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.5 steals in 11 games so far. His performance this summer has earned him recently from UConn and Syracuse.

The 6’5 defender relied on his defensive abilities to blow up the action with his incredible length, athleticism and reflexes. His AAU steal numbers began to paint photos of his main perimeter defense, recording three or more steals in five games this summer.

There was a 6’9 wingspan reportedly interrupting Mingo’s crimes as a and outside defender. He quickly and strong player hound at the attack point, sliding his feet to contain the drive and unplugged the loose handle. During the NBPA top 100 melee, he stole the live broadcast, skipped the pass lane, and kept imprinting on the defensive end.

How Mingo thrives in offense

On the offense, Mingo’s excellent cuts and plays fueled his upside. His PSA Cardinal team relies on him for the main creation – Mingo has 37 more photos and 56 free throws than his second choice (Julius Avent). He played in the NBPA top 100 training camps, thus improving his EYBL game efficiency.

While we shouldn’t over-index the All-Star Game sample, Mingo flashes the advantage of creation and playing, which makes him a high-end prospect. Few defenders like Mingo have the flexibility, real-time creativity and speed that help him break his defensive ability.

Shooting will be one of Mingo’s main swing skills as he has only scored 25.7% (9-35) of three-pointers this AAU season so far. Mingo’s mechanics obviously need to work, but he’s willing to try to open up the ternary and mid-size distances and hit some nice jumpers in the dribble.

Mingo’s strong ultimate high school summer is winning him a high-profile offer. In addition to his recent premium quotes, he has received quotes from Alabama, North Carolina, Illinois, Texas and Louisville. He won’t be 17 until October, younger than many other 2026 prospects, providing Mingo with a huge upside as a prospect for college and NBA.
