Defender Lloyd Kelly recently spent an unexpected time in his football career, with the player moving to Newcastle United before joining the Italian giant Juventus.

The former under-21 defender signed Hipies in June 2024 with a free transfer after his contract with Bournemouth.

After his limited time at St James Park, the defender moved to Juventus, initially as a loan move, but his transfer became permanent.

Newcastle hopes he can seamlessly strengthen the left back or left back slot, but the move never hits the top gear.

Lloyd Kelly failed to impress at Newcastle United

Kelly has only 10 Premier League appearances before January, often in the order of pecking by Lewis Hall and Sven Botman.

After his spell in Italy, the defender can now return to England with one of the Premier League clubs interested in signing him.

According to Italian media Il Bianconero, Crystal Palace is exploring the possibility of returning to the Premier League after the turbulent spells with Juventus in Italy.

The Eagles are said to be closely monitoring the 26-year-old defender’s situation and take action in the coming weeks as they hope to strengthen their defense.

Although his move to Serie A was seen as a new starting point and an opportunity to rebuild himself at the top European clubs, his time in Turin did not go as planned.

Despite his 13 appearances and showing his qualities, Kelly struggled to adapt to the tactical requirements of Italian football.

The Palace longs for added depth and versatility in its backline, while the former Bournemouth captain fits the profile of Premier League players.

Returning to England may also benefit Kelly, who can rediscover his best form in the familiar league.

After seeing Ben Chillwell finish his loan spell, the Palace is now considering actions against the former Bournemouth man because of the future of Marc Guehi of Selhurst Park.

Glasner’s team is also associated with AC Milan Defender Fikayo Tomori.
