Golf Business News – Club companies host women in par events to promote women’s participation

The club company is the leading country club operator in the UK, joining forces with England Golf to inspire women to enter the competition, introducing the “Golf Initiative”.
Women on par Provide women of any age (young, work or retirement) with the opportunity to introduce to golf or further advance amateur games, regardless of their current standards. The club company’s initiative provides a three-hour introduction to mid-Wednesday or weekend at clubs of all 18 of its clubs, which begin with a meeting on the driving range and then head to a game in Texas and undergo the course with the support of the club’s women. All participants were then invited to have a drink in the bar, build friendships, and hope to play a companion in the course in the future.
Richard Calvert, CEO of the club, said: “We are seeing more and more women fall in love with golf games, but numbers are still different in terms of membership throughout the UK. We are happy to change that and make sure more women stand out on the green and improve their mind, body and soul at the same time.”
Cara Gainer, pro golfer and ambassador for The Club Company, commented: “When I first started playing golf 14 years ago it was still a very male-dominated sport. I’m so excited and inspired to see more women playing – starting from all ages. Women on Par is such a great initiative and I’m password about encouraging more girls and women to get involved – it’s such an exciting sport but the best bit is, unlike other sports, you can keep playing into your 80s.”
The club company also worked with TV and radio host Jenni Falconer, who went to Instagram and said: “It’s great to work with the club company to encourage more women to golf.
Jenny will also play the ambassador for the upcoming campaign, with club companies looking to raise awareness about women’s health, with a focus on people experiencing menopause, whose Let’s Talk about Menopause will be held in October this year in their 18 club collection.
