Griffin started well on Saturday and had three birdies in a row on No. 6-8, but followed by four consecutive bogeys. He added birdies to 14 and 15, disconnecting him from his co-leading with Schaffler at the age of 18.
Scheffler and Griffin will have their final pairing at 2:05 p.m. Sunday. The duo also represents the final two winners of the tour – Charles Schwab at the PGA Championship and Griffin at Scheffler.
