76ers trade rumors: 76ers shopping Andre Drummond

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly shopping veteran Andre Drummond, who won the $5 million player option for the 2025-26 season last week.

“If I were a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers, I would look for Andre Drummond. The 76ers have been working hard to move him over the last 24 hours. Let’s see if they’re done.”

Andre Drummond sees more game time

As Embiid was in the game for most of the 2024-25 season, Drummond spent nearly 19 minutes per game in 40 games (23 games). He averaged 7.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field.

Drummond signed a $10 million deal with the Sixers last summer for two years. His second job in Philadelphia, after spending the first half of the 2021-22 season with the team before heading to the Brooklyn Nets as part of the James Harden trade.

In the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft, the Sixers selected Auburn big shot Johni Broome, his choice was promoted. Philadelphia also signed Justin Edwards for a three-year contract after rejecting his $1.9 million team choice.

Edwards’ deal could include a third-year team choice as it would allow the Sixers to make him a restricted free agent in 2027, rather than allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent in 2028.

76ers lose Guerschon Yabusele in NBA free agent

On the first day of NBA free agents, the Sixers signed Threnon Watford, reaching a two-year, $5.3 million deal. Watford, 24, has spent his last two seasons in the past two seasons since entering the league in 2021-22.

After the Sixers landed on Paul George in 2024, free agents this year will not be kidnapped in 77% (about $146 million) of Philadelphia payroll, while 77% of them lack roster flexibility in Embiid, George and Tyrese Maxey.

Rumor has it that the Sixers’ deal is from the third pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, transferring George and his four-year $212 million contract to a deal. Finally, of course, this never happened.

But the Sixers are looking to bring back limited free agent defender Quentin Grimes. Kelly Oubre Jr. reportedly chose his player option for Sunday’s 2025-26 season.

However, Philadelphia cannot bring back breakthrough star forward Guerschon Yabusele, who signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the New York Knicks as an unrestricted free agent.
