The meeting of the eighth seed Musetti with the Russian Diamond-Ariassi on Wednesday had a big impact on the live competition in Turin in the PIF ATP live match, with the eighth-place Musetti having the opportunity to expand the gap between himself and the 10th-Ariassimi. However, by defeating tenth-placed Russian Diamonds – Aliassime in Game 5 against top ten opponents in 2025, his rival has improved by 530 points as both players compete for the Nitto ATP Finals position.
Prior to Shanghai, the Auger-Aliass tournament reached the Cincinnati quarterfinals and the US Open semifinals. The Canadian brought a similar form to his clash with Musetti, who distributed 24 winners to his opponent’s 11, including seven ACEs.
The 25-year-old also saved all three breakout points he faced, and now he has retained him in 28 of his three matches in Shanghai so far, according to Infosys ATP Stats.
