Shane Pinto doesn’t want his contract situation to be distracted

Bruce Gallioch, a citizen of Ottawa: The 24-year-old Shane Pinto is about to enter his final year of contract and scored a career-high 37 points in 70 games last season, the third-line center for the Ottawa Senator. His hat covered $3.75 million.

Senator Steve Stois said last week that he spoke with Pinto’s agent about possible expansions.

“I had a discussion with his agent, and I think that was a few weeks ago, and I thought it was a positive conversation,” Stous said. “They felt the season started without being distracted, and that’s the way they wanted it to go.

They know I’m always willing to discuss it. We talked about Shane being a big part of this team and I look forward to more discussions to make him part of this core move forward. ”

It sounds like they will get the season started to understand and see what’s going on. Pinto wants to focus on hockey, and without his contract situation will be distracted.

“I just want to focus on hockey,” Pinto said. “It’s a big year for everyone. I don’t want to distract anyone, I hope we all take the next step and hopefully have a good start and then we’ll see where it goes from there.”

Mason McTavish

David Pagnotta in the fourth phase: Mason McTavish will continue to skate with the Ottawa 67s (OHL) as his agent and Anaheim Ducks try to narrow down the big game with a contract.

McTavish’s seven-eight-year contract was opened between $7 and $8 million, with a five-year contract for the Ducks being about $5.5 million, sources said.
