Cricket Club – This is about golf
Founded in 1854, Philadelphia Cricket Club is the oldest country club in the United States, a cricket center before entering the golf course.
After a brief cameo as a rare cricket venue in the country, the Wissahickon course opened in 1922 and has been in popularity since then, and it recently won a spot on 100 golf courses in the U.S. golf month.
Designed by visionary genius
The Wissahickon course is designed by Aw Tillinghast, one of the greatest course architects and designers in Golf. He also brings iconic tracks like Wingfoot, which have held major golf competitions in the past.
The course is a design combination of Tillinghast, with a naturalistic route and a small punitive green – Wissahickon offers serious challenges without overextending in 7119 yards.
This is a real natural challenge
Some of the golf courses on the PGA Tour are filled with idyllic artificial dangers, including stunning water features and form factor bunkers to provide the “your face” challenge.
Wissahickon offers more natural testing and features rolling terrain, elevation changes and dense roughness. This is a track without a doubt. Players must be accurate in both T-shirts and approach shots.
