Golf is not only my job, it is my favorite hobby. When I’m not watching and writing about golf, I’m most likely in the simulator or on the course.
This may seem like a no-brainer given my job description, but becoming a golfer in New York City is no easy task. Despite having to take buses, trains and rental cars to get to the course, I still play 40-50 rounds a year. I wish the number was higher, but as a city golfer this is great.
One of the advantages of being an avid golfer (in addition to being an avid golf watcher) is that I know our readers. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw someone practicing their golf swing on the subway platform with an umbrella. Golf pathos are everywhere – I love seeing them.
As a huge golf fan, I’m always keen to try out the latest gear and gadgets to make the game more fun. I’ve had the pleasure of trying out a lot of helpful items this year, and here are five of my favorites.

The Grooveit Mini G Brush has been my favorite golf item that I’ve had in my bag for years. You see, this brush is no ordinary groove cleaner. It’s small enough that it won’t cause trouble in your bag, but it’s large enough to clear all the grass and dirt out of the grooves of the course.
Perhaps the best feature, though, is the strong magnet that holds the brush to the carabiner. With magnets holding it in place, you can take the brush out of the bag and use it without the need for wires or chains. Due to the strength of the magnet, it easily pops back into place when you put it back; no need to worry about losing it after use.

After more than a decade of using my original suitcase, it was finally time to upgrade this summer and I opted for Sun Mountain’s Clubglider – and I’m so glad I did. Retractable support legs on the bottom of the box make walking through the airport a breeze. I no longer have to lug a heavy bag behind me on the way to the luggage counter.
