Cardinal claims Jorge Alcalá -MLB trade rumors

Cardinals announce their claim to be right-handed Jorge Alcalá Waiver from the Red Sox. Boston designated him as a mission earlier this week. These cards have a roster of several 40 people from their deadline transactions. Alcalá is not selected, so once reported to the team, the card will need to make a corresponding active lineup.

Alcalá, 30, has a good overall record, but the season is tough. From 2019 to 2024, he averaged 163 1/3 innings with an average running average of 3.64. He struck 25.4% of the batsmen while walking with 8.3% of the clip. He made one savings during that time and had 28 holdings.

But as mentioned earlier, this year has been a struggle. He posted some bad numbers earlier this year and was flipped to the Red Sox in June. Between Minnesota and Boston, he threw 40 innings with a 6.64 ERA. His strikeout rate of 24.2% is still a good number, but he has earned 12.1% of his opponents for free.

For the cards, they only have 5.5 playoff games, but obviously they’re going to be on the spot next season. They plan to reset a year in 2025 from the beginning. Even though they hang out in the playoffs, they sold their upcoming free agents before the deadline. These include three rescuers. Ryan Helsley Trading to the metropolis Phil Marton To the ranger and Steven Matz Go to the Red Sox.

These deals left them with some vacancies. This is their second waiver claim since these deals. They caught it Anthony Veneano Started with the Marlins a few days ago and has now joined Alcalá.
