Golf Business News – New Book Chart Landman's Story

The story of Landmand Golf Course in eastern Nebraska tells the story of golf journalist Adam Lawrence recording his pregnancy and creation in print.

“Top: The Story of Land”published today (May 13) to mark the start of the 2025 season in a prestigious course designed and built by King-Collins Design.

Lawrence, former editor of international magazines Golf course architecture Since its inception in 2005, it has worked with the Landmand team to handle its public relations since its opening in 2022.

“After working with Landmand for a few years, I met the Andersen family who developed the golf course, and I realized that their story, and the story of the course itself, was so good that it wasn't recorded,” Lawrence said. “So I came up with Will Andersen, and luckily he thought it was a good idea. I was proud of our production- it had a great story and looked great.”

Top' Telling how young Carl Andersen left his home in Denmark in 1913 to settle in northeastern Nebraska to become a farmer, and how his son Leo built a family farm to a large business. Leo's son Bryce and grandson will continue the family farming tradition, but diversify into Golf, purchasing nine local hole routes and renaming them to Dane in honor of their legacy.

After many misfortunes, they finally decided to develop an 18-hole course, and through a series of outstanding coincidences, the design and construction team of Rob Collins and Tad King were hired as King-Collins’ first 18-hole course.

Landmand has been highly praised since its opening and was awarded the Best New Public Course for Golf Digest in 2022 and was named Nebraska's third largest course in 2034-24. Earlier this year, it sold out the entire serving time list for the 2025 season in less than an hour.

“My family originated from the local community and we are very happy and grateful to have attracted people’s attention by building land,” said Will Andersen. “Now, I hope Adam’s book will attract more attention!”
