T-shirt time for round 2
If anyone thinks Scottie Scheffler will relax easily this week and save him the focus of his tour tournament, they are wrong. The world No. 1 and FedEx Cup leader eliminated any notion that winning wasn’t his only idea in the early stages of Thursday’s first round.
Schefller was hot, making birdies in the first two holes, and then adding a third red number to the fourth hole. The strong start made Schaffler an early BMW leader.

In the first round of the 2025 BMW Championship, Scottie Scheffler made Birdie on the par 4.
Rory McIlroy made his playoff debut after skipping last week, playing with Scheffler on Thursday, but McIlroy’s round was very different. The dominant Masters champion ended in one of his first four holes and then dropped to two in seven holes.
After serving early in the first round, Schefler and McIlroy will switch to afternoon kickoff time in the second round Friday for a second round at 1:38 PM ET.
