1 Ryder Cup’s dilemma is hidden in obvious sight

Farmingdale, NY – You must admit that the buildings are impressive.
The giant of the Ryder cup as the drone sails on the oak tree in Bethpage Black yes Show it in full. It’s not green but white, red, but huge. Hotel tents and stands shot into the sky. It is absolutely necessary if the US PGA wants to do the right thing over 30, 40, or 50,000 thousand that appear every day.
Security and improved police presence will be the story of this week. Unruly fans may become another one. There is no event like this in golf, you will have no problems. Your Instagram feed will be filled with the first T-shirt video before the eggs have breakfast.
But there is an interesting question hanging on all modern, major sporting events: What’s more important to the Ryder Cup is its size or soul?
Over the years, we have asked about changes in our sports leaders and governing bodies. FIFA’s World Cup immediately thought of, as next year’s game has almost doubled its size… in 2034 dedicated to the sports front, but unhygienic Saudi Arabia (2034).
For now, this week, Saudi funds will be used for advertising on Long Island Railroad trains, carrying golf courses to Bethpage.
“If it’s your team, then if it’s your business,” the ad reads. “You’ll love our business.”
If any creative marketer has a decent budget and is focusing on golfers, they will spend this week. The People’s Square located on site is filled with five absorbing activations. Next to the Vodka Golf Club next to Elijah Craig Speakeasy is a Michelbe Super Tent. (Luckily, the Gatorade Hydration Station is just around the corner.)
It was 27 miles, and golf flew from Rockefeller Plaza in the heart of Manhattan to downtown Manhattan and turned it into a “Red Cup” scene on Thursday, which drew attention to the event over the weekend. On Tuesday morning, speakers, seats and signs were still set, but a BMW sedan was already set up for Captain Keegan (7), and another beamer next to Captain Luke, who parked next to the i7. Scan the QR code to find more information while watching golf on the big screen and stare at 30 Rock.
Almost all incoming emails have seen some new corners of the cup carved by another brand over the past few weeks. Five-Traffic will debut this week at its latest New York location. A gambling company is promoting the latest analysis of its supercomputer, and the team has a 57% chance of winning. Latest email received Tuesday afternoon: Good Golf will team up with the newly discovered show “Breakfast at Bethpage” produced by Omaha Studios and Pro Shop Studios to lead the blindfolded putters and other challenges in the morning of the event.
Do you know what, skeptic? People will watch it. (ed. Note: Another activation email written in this article was at the Skratch event in the city on Friday, which contains Hyperice’s latest technology and products.)
But is everything necessary? Bigger always Let us move in a better direction? In an era of empowering players, huge TV rights valuations, $750 tickets and a rapidly declining position for cups can even host – we can’t be sure. (Frequently unacceptable: Is this what Seve Ballesteros, Sam Ryder, Arnold Palmer, etc. would like?)
Like clockwork, each Ryder Cup somehow reaches bigger than the last one. At present, every new feeling is very special and it is normal in two years. Ticket prices this year are higher than ever and significantly higher than Rome in 2023. Rome is the first time the event has participated in a golf course (and the surrounding area) for this purpose. The 2021 Whistle Channel building – in a shared impact match, equally no less – makes the 2018 French Ryder Cup look obviously obvious. But the first Tee stand in the French countryside made Hazeltine’s first T-shirt look baby. There are appropriate reminders below.
While this 2025 Cup lead is exciting, many players and their teams are softly tired on what could happen this week, before President Trump decides to participate. After months of ominous “We Will See,” Rory McIlroy speaks out loud guardian:
“I think something inevitable happens in New York,” McIlroy said. “It may not involve me, but something inevitably happens, whether it was last Rome or something else.”
This is obvious. The bigger the crowd, the easier it is to blend in with the noise. The more expensive the tickets are, the more qualified they are to cross the theoretical line. Who draws the lines? Who really knows! However, the train does not seem to slow down much, especially as the government has agreed to help subsidize litigation proceedings as the Cup continues to head to the world’s largest city.
It took years for the DP World Tour to choose Barcelona as the host of the 2031 Cup…coincidentally, once the local Catalan government is fully committed to funding some of the costs. However, this will require various transportation changes in the surrounding area, not to mention the actual physical changes in the golf course. In the same way, no city can host the Olympics without tearing things up, move them and rebuild them, and PGA and DPWT would think the Ryder Cup course is very short. So let the bid begin! And fully accept the results of the London Competition when it is held in 2035. Just don’t expect that the course is attached too much and may not even exist yet.
If it’s strange to worry about the 2030s Ryder Cups, it’s probably because the growth is linear. How much room can I grow? The 1980s marked the competitive potential of the event and suddenly capitalized in the 1990s. It was 1999, when Captain Ben Crenshaw begged Tiger Woods and others to settle their desire for some kind of compensation.
“It’s not greed,” Woods said at the time. “It’s the fact that we want to help. We want to donate to local charities. There’s a lot of money from the Ryder Cup, and it’s become a corporate event.”
This sentence is bigger than this week’s role because: 1) it’s quite predictable; 2) As Captain Bradley said, American players finally see their compensation “by 2025.” Every American player and captain earns $300,000 for the charity of their choice, and a $200,000 allowance related to their wishes for themselves.
This question is to do a real Rorschach test for anyone who cares about this activity. This is a rather fragile argument that the cup should continue to grow permanently, and no Directly benefit players at an increasing rate. It’s also very reasonable (and very simple!) to see how money has completely turned every corner of the sport in recent years. Keeping one of its most precious events greedy events may be satisfied with everyone involved. (or most Everyone. ) It’s hard to tell the hardworking father of Twins that if he wants to bring everyone to Hazel, then the Family Vacation Foundation will look a little lighter in 2029. When the goal they just reached was to sell soup, $10,000 per day for subway club packages, they also had a hard time telling the people they wanted to arrive by helicopter, and they also had a hard time relaxing.
All of this mashed is where we use it with the Ryder Cup. We can enjoy its hell over the next few days, but not without doubting where it is.
